Description
Bridging the gap between an ultra-comfortable, traditional full- or split-grip cork-handled bass rod, like Shimano’s Expride B series, and the lightweight, ultra-sensitive feel of a true JDM build, the Shimano Poison Glorious spinning lineup delivers a refined middle ground. The series features eight technique-driven spinning models, including options tailored specifically for jerkbait spin and two dedicated strolling models designed to handle the full range of strolling bait sizes with precision. Starting at the rear grip and into the reel seat, Shimano is debuting FusionGrip Technology to the U.S market, which features a thin cork grip spread onto a carbon monocoque grip, a hollow carbon structure that transmits vibration directly to the angler’s hand. From there, a CI4+ reel seat is utilized for a lightweight reel-to-rod connection. The Poison Glorious rod blank is tuned for peak performance through the combination of Shimano’s Ultimate Blanks Design (UBD), Spiral X Core, and Hi-Power X. UBD allows Shimano to strategically position different carbon materials throughout the blank, optimizing sensitivity, strength, and weight balance for each specific model. Spiral X Core then builds a hyper-rigid internal framework that resists twist and maintains structural integrity under extreme pressure. Hi-Power X wraps that core with a tailored carbon matrix that fine-tunes flex, recovery, and vibration control. The Poison Glorious spinning series also features premium componentry, including the Shimano X Guide for the stripper guides, followed by Fuji Ti SiC guides throughout the rest of the layout. The two strolling models in the series feature Shimano’s Taftec Infinity Technology, an advanced solid tip construction, creating an ultra-sensitive, durable tip section without adding excess weight. The enhanced sensitivity and smooth, controlled flex make it ideal for forward-facing sonar techniques, where imparting precise lure action and detecting subtle bites are critical. Uniting advanced blank construction, innovative grip technology, and premium componentry, the Poison Glorious spinning series delivers a seamlessly integrated high-performance platform built for anglers who demand sensitivity, balance, and technique-driven precision.
Features
-
FusionGrip Technology: Combines a thin cork layer with a carbon monocoque core to deliver heightened sensitivity and direct vibration transmission to the angler’s hand while maintaining a comfortable, traditional grip feel
-
CI4+ Reel Seat: Lightweight, ultra‑rigid Carbon Interfusion design that boosts sensitivity while cutting weight for high‑end rod performance
-
Spiral X Core: Featuring a three‑layer structure that uses proprietary carbon tape to significantly boost strength while cutting weight and minimizing twist
-
Hi‑Power X: Utilizes diagonally wrapped carbon tape that creates distinctive X‑pattern reinforcement on the rod blank’s outer layer, which adds strength and limits blank twist without adding extra weight
-
Shimano X‑Guide: Shimano’s proprietary next‑generation rod guide system is designed to be lighter, stronger, and dramatically more tangle‑resistant than traditional guide frames. It helps anglers by improving casting distance, reducing line trouble, and increasing sensitivity
